Darjeeling Himalayas Toy Train

Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (Toy Train)

A nineteenth century engineering feat, this 88 km long narrow gauge steam railway was constructed between 1879 and 1881 and was responsible for the development of Darjeeling as a hill station.

It remains the best way to see the flora and fauna of the Darjeeling hills. UNESCO has granted it World Heritage status. The grandeur of the spectacular landscape of Darjeeling region can be fully appreciated from the vertiginous course of this narrow-gauge railway as it labours uphill at about 10 mph.

You can catch the early morning daily train from NJP station or Siliguri Junction . Please book your tickets in advance through the IRCTC website so that you do not miss out on the fun of riding the toy train. The Cindrella Hotel has been actively promoting the DHR and conducts special photography tours and three course dining steam charters for tour groups. Our trained guides and photographers can help you in creating memories of your journey from NJP to Darjeeling.
